San Diego Event Venue SEO Case Study: Nearly 4x More Google Clicks

A San Diego event venue already had a steady wedding business and wanted to be found for corporate events and holiday parties too. The plan was visibility first, then more leads. Here is what we did and what changed.

5 + 7 =

THE GOAL

Already booked for weddings, ready for more

The venue had a steady wedding business. The opportunity was the rest of the calendar, especially corporate events and holiday parties, which many companies plan months in advance.

That shaped the plan. Before pushing for more inquiries, the venue first needed to show up when companies and event planners searched. Phase one focused on visibility. Phase two focuses on turning that new traffic into booked events.

THE RESULTS

What changed

Nearly 4x more clicks from Google

4,790 clicks from Google search in the 3 months ending in early November 2026, compared with 1,240 in the same period a year earlier.

4x more top 3 rankings

92 keywords in Google’s top 3 results in October 2026, up from 23 in April 2026 when the work began.

From page 3 to page 1

Average position in Google improved from 26.5 to 8.3 over the same 3 month comparison.

34% more corporate inquiries

Inquiries from companies and organizations rose from 64 to 86 from January through October, compared with the same months in 2025.

SEARCH CONSOLE

By August and September it was bringing in about 1,700, with a seasonal dip in October. Impressions grew from 164,000 to 406,000 in the 3 month year over year comparison.

WHAT WE DID

The work behind the results

A page for every event type

Built out a full set of event pages, from corporate event venue and holiday party venue to celebration of life, quinceañera and graduation party pages, so the venue could rank for each kind of event it hosts.

Blog updates

Optimized and refreshed existing blog posts, which already attracted planning searches for décor, receptions and holiday parties.

Content for the main event pages

Wrote new content for every main event page, built around the searches couples, companies and planners actually make.

A new website built to convert

Moved the site from an older platform to a new WordPress and Elementor build with new inquiry forms, clear calls to action, FAQs and reviews.

CORPORATE EVENTS

Ranking for corporate holiday parties

Corporate holiday parties were a priority for the venue, and those searches moved the most.

Keyword March 2026 November 2026
corporate holiday party venues Not in top 100 3
corporate holiday party venue 42 6
corporate holiday party venues san diego 3 2

Positions from Semrush (US database). Broader searches like corporate event venue san diego still have room to grow, and they are a focus of phase two.

WHAT'S NEXT

Visibility first, leads next

Total website inquiries were up 7% from January through October compared with 2025. Corporate and organization inquiries grew faster, rising from 11% of all inquiries in August through October 2025 to 16% in the same months of 2026.

With the new site and inquiry forms now live, the next phase is about converting more of the new traffic into booked events.

ABOUT THIS CASE STUDY

Sources and methods

Click, impression and position data comes from the venue’s Google Search Console. Keyword positions come from Semrush (US database). Inquiry counts come from the venue’s website form submissions, with tests, spam and repeat submissions removed. Corporate inquiries are those that chose Corporate or Holiday Party as the event type or mentioned a company, organization or holiday party in the message.
